CAMPUS PROFILE GLOSSARY

November 2020

4120-4354 ADMISSIONS, STUDENT QUALITY, STUDENT/FACULTY RATIOS

4120-4137 (ORIGINAL) NEW BEGINNING FRESHMEN ADMISSIONS
Source: New Freshman Profile published by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (through 2008-09) plus additional information by college provided directly from that office. New freshmen are students who never enrolled in a degree program at an institution of higher education. Some of them may have taken college classes while still in high school or during the summer between high school and college. Statistics shown are for fall term admissions only.
Note: ORIGINAL applications, admitted and enrolled counts include students who applied to one college and were redirected to another college. Redirected students are counted in the applications but are not counted in either of the colleges’ admitted or enrolled counts. Also, college-level data is very spotty prior to 2009-10 due to changing formats in the published New Freshman Profile.
Data is available only for college and campus levels.

The mean SAT total score for all newly enrolled beginning freshmen. When more than one SAT total score is available for a student, the highest one received before the admission decision is made was chosen.
